Franzen Feeling Better

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,

Franzen was kicking a soccer ball against the wall by himself outside the dressing room at Jobing.com Arena while his teammates were on the ice for the morning skate. He said he feels much better.

“I feel good,’’ Franzen said. “I’ll work out a little bit (off ice), see if I get any symptoms. That’s the next step.’‘

It’s a huge relief for the club, which plays the Phoenix Coyotes tonight (9 p.m. Fox Sports Net Detroit).

“That’s excellent,’’ coach Mike Babcock said. “He feels great. I just walked by him in the hallway and I told him there’s an activity at 6 tonight (local time), but he’s not getting a chance to (participate).’‘

Babcock said forward Justin Abdelkader (ribs) will not play.

I think the better question is, are we okay to exhale?
