Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren issued the following statement regarding injured forwards Jeff Carter and Simon Gagne on Wednesday afternoon:
“Jeff Carter and Simon Gagne will both have right foot surgery on Friday performed by Dr. Steve Raikin in Philadelphia to repair fractures. Simon could return to action in three weeks. Jeff is out indefinitely.”

Dang. Didn’t Carter just come back from a broken foot?

They’re somewhat used to playing without Gagne. Carter has been streaky since he returned from the injury, but he’s a huge loss.
Really, it’s an opportunity for Giroux and more so Briere.

I heard the NHL wants Brodeur to get one more cup before he is forced to retire, and since the fall down Flyers were an impediment, Bettman paid the Flyers trainer to drop weights on both players feet causing the injuries.
Hey this conspiracy stuff is fun and easy!
