Full Disclosure

from Terry Frei of ESPN,

It’s time for full disclosure.
And that doesn’t mean—well, at least not necessarily—all National Hockey League owners releasing their tax returns, providing a list of everything else they own, and detailing what they knew about Enron and when they knew it.

Let everyone easily play along at home, screaming at general managers about cap numbers as if we’re watching a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” trying to buy a “U” when the puzzle shows:

Well, I was hoping that the league would actually move away from those cheesy, impersonal “My NHL” ads, and would market individual players and teams, but hey, Frei’s got me convinced…

That he’s paid on a word-by-word basis…

Totally agree, hopefully it’s just a matter of time that the league or nhlpa website shows cap salaries.  I know I’ve been researching various websites in trying to find the most accurate salary cap information on teams and players, and I’m sure many more are with me.  It would be very fan-friendly if the league jumped on the opportunity of letting fans know the accurate salary cap numbers for each team and player.  Let our obsession flow free to follow our team and the league.  They may be interested more in the non-fan and/or casual fan bases, for all fan support to grow, but throw us “die-hards” a bone.
