from Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune,
The Marian Hossa era has officially begun. And by the looks of things, it could be something special for the Blackhawks.
The veteran winger made his debut with the Hawks on Wednesday night and helped them thoroughly dismantle the San Jose Sharks 7-2 in front of a crowd of 17,562 at HP Pavilion….
“It was a bonus to score two goals,” said Hossa, who played his first game after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. “I was looking to try to get into game shape and try to make good plays, keep it simple. Who would say we’d beat them 7-2? We played a great game overall. It’s huge.”

The Hawks were huge when they were down a man, tying a team record with the three short-handed goals. It was the fifth time they’ve accomplished the feat, with the last being Nov. 17, 2007 at Detroit.
Well, the Hawks will have a chance to break that record when they play the Wings on Dec. 20th. Right now, a PeeWee Midget team could score against the Wings’ PK. Sad, but all too true.
I saw enough of last night’s game to know the Hawks are the real deal (in spite of Brian Campbell). They’re scary-fast, and they’re obviously fired up when they’re on the ice. It’s gut-wrenching to watch the Wings play without that passion (with the exception of Zetterberg, Cleary, Helm, Eaves and Stuart).
The Wings best hope right now for any shot at even the Western Conference Finals is for Bertuzzi to snap and go postal on the entire Hawks first line. At least then he’d be contributing something.

The Hawks road trip has been awe inspiring. They are fast and dominant. Blew out Calgary, Edmonton and now San Jose.

Congrats to Hawks fans for your team’s *regular season* success.

This is the Hawks’ year. If they can’t get it done this year, they can hang it up. With the cap, they can’t keep this team together.

To me this game was more about how San Jose wilted (again) than how Chicago dominated.
This game was a gut check for San Jose and they failed miserably. When they fell behind 4-0 with 3 shorties against they had a great oppurtunity to show the NHL how this year’s team is different and that it has the wherewithal to battle in a bad situation. I’m not talking about coming all the way back and winning the game, I’m saying just show up and fight like it really matters. Nope, they fell behind and then they wilted.
This was suppose to be a big game, as big as a game can be in november anyway.
