Gomez, Cami, Gionta…small group of forwards to go along with what they already have! Never be able to stand up to the big boys…Better hope they put a lot of pucks in the net for all that $$!

I’m guessing Gomez and Gionta will be on the same line. What other former Devil players will they get?

Gainey panicked big time

Montreal had a ton of cap space to burn and a pressing desire to get bigger, so they go out and spend almost $25 million on two older defensemen (one of whom, Gill, has a broad reach but the mobility of a traffic cone) and three forwards all of whom are under 6’. What’s up with Gainey?

Montreal…....Canada’s version of the NY Rangers. It’s time to admit nobody wants to play in Montreal. They need to overpay to get washed up guys like Gionta. Cammi is a one year wonder playing with Iginla. And they have no goalie and a nothing defence for the most part. Oh and coached by complete failure Jackie Martin…...This is going to be a terrible team

Gionta had some great years with gomez back on the devils. I guess gainey got him cuase he knew they would at least have some chemistry.

lot of u just big at talking. maybe those guys arent big, but they deserve their chance to prove they can play. some of speak as if all players are washed up which make no sense. although i do agree that bob gainy could have done a better job, but u have to understand, its not only matter of pointing finger at a player and saying u are in my team. theres many other aspect involved. and as some of u mention no one wants to play in montreal, that is a total bull crap, in last couple of years gainy hasnt done much. when he had the chance to select talented players he just missed out on them. montreal is in fact the best place to play hockey in, speacially due to its uncomprable fan support. yes at times it can be very stressful, but the fans only ask of players so much because they love their players. when montreal plays at home, there is no other rink in the entire league louder than ours. but i once again mention bob could of made better choices but what we have is very good. if the chemistry is good, and if everyone is ready to win the battles, then they can bring huge improvement. instead of badmouthing and assuming many things let just wait for the season to start and see how it goes. noting comes easy, u got to wait, i am not saying montreal will be flying in the start of new season because it takes time to get adjusted to teamates, coaches and all other aspects. I also, agree that jacques martin isnt the greatest choice for a coach but whats done is done, we can only look forward what it brings in the future and hopefully lot of sucess. so cheer on every habs fan, GO HABS GO!
