from John Down of Flames Insider,
Curtis Glencross doesn’t expect any additional punishment from the five-minute major he received for running Minnesota defenceman Clayton Stoner into the end boards early in the second period.
“I don’t think so,” he said. “I think I would have got a call already from the league.”
Glencross felt like he was hung out to dry on the play as he tried to outleg Stoner for a loose puck.
“When you’re going in as hard as you can on a guy on the forecheck and all of a sudden he stops, you put yourself in a tough spot,” he said. “Obviously I didn’t mean too . . . it wasn’t intentional or anything like that. It was just kind of a fresk thing. You hate to see it . . . obviously you don’t mean it to happen, but it happens.”

I’m a Flames fan (and a Glencross fan to boot) and even I think the guy should have been suspended. The Wheel of Justice is the closest thing we have ever seen to true randomization. It is a remarkable human accomplishment and the NHL, and Mr. Campbell in particular, should be ashamed of themselves for not sharing their secret with the rest of the world.

$2500 for ramming a guy head-first into the boards?
This is why the NHL has these incidents happen on a nightly basis.
Geez, it’s almost like the NHL is daring the players to cause a death.
