Goalies Who May Be On The Dallas Radar

Now, as for the logic of reports that Turco won’t be re-signed, I think we all can speculate that those could very well come true. Turco can become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and the Stars decided that they would use this season to help determine whether they wanted to re-sign him. So far, with Turco posting a 14-13-8 record with a 2.84 GAA and a .905 save percentage, the odds are he will not be given an offer.
After nine years in a Stars uniform (including a ton of regular season franchise records), the Stars are probably going to end up looking for a new goalie.
Who is that goalie and when will the Stars find him? It appears they are looking around the NHL right now and trying to get a feel on some of the netminders who are out there. It appears they would like a younger goalie who can grow with the franchise and who can step right in right now and win some games.
The names you’ll hear tossed around a lot are: Jaroslav Halak in Montreal, Cory Schneider in Vancouver and Kari Lehtonen in Atlanta.
