Groin Problem Slows Down Cheechoo

The team is listing him as day-to-day, and Cheechoo said he honestly had no idea if there was a chance he could play tonight against the Minnesota Wild at HP Pavilion.
“It’s a little sore right now,” Cheechoo said. “It might take a little time to heal. I’ll just have to see how it reacts.”
On his sixth shift Saturday, Cheechoo was digging for a puck in the corner when the ice gave way beneath a skate. He slipped and felt something pull.
He also doesn’t know if the groin injury is related in any way to the double hernia surgery he had last May. But the medical staff, he added, is treating this as a new injury.
