Hasek Disappointed With His Play

from the Tennessean,
The teams now head back to Joe Louis Arena for Game 5 Friday. Babcock will have to decide whether he goes back to Hasek, who was 27-10-3 this season for the team that posted the NHL’s best record in the regular season, or sticks with Osgood (27-9-4).
“I’m pretty sure (what I’ll do), but I always like to take a deep breath first and then decide what I’m going to do,” Babcock said.
Still, it’s a decision that’s likely to be subject of great debate in Hockeytown.
But there was no discernable discussion about making a change after Game 3, when Hasek said he should have stopped a couple slap shots that found the net in Nashville’s 5-3 win.
He was, unsurprisingly, even more upset after the Game 4 loss.
“Very disappointing,” he said. “Last 60 minutes, worst hockey I’ve played in my life. I have nothing to say about it. I feel very bad about myself.’’

They need to start Ozzie. Why reward Hasek’s terrible play with another start?

“Very disappointing,” he said. “Last 60 minutes, worst hockey I’ve played in my life. I have nothing to say about it. I feel very bad about myself.’’
Do those words remind anyone of Legace’s last words: “I feel like going to hang myself” ???
When a professional athlete is that down on himself, he is in no emotional state to play the game.
This guy can no longer play. Period.
Start Osgood, with Jimmy Howard backing him up.
The king is dead! Long live the king!

We’ve spent a lot of this season being disappointed with Hasek’s play, it seems. I just don’t think he has the mental toughness or will to get it done anymore… so many goals he’s let in this year have been soft ones or ones he maybe should have had—simple shots that weren’t even screened or deflected. On the goals Ozzie’s given up, they’ve mostly been goals where Ozzie couldn’t have done much more…

Hasek was so despondent after two terrible losses that he once again threw himself right out in front of the team bus. Fortunately the bus then hit a speed bump and proceeded to fly right over his glove. He is done. Osgood, for what it’s worth is a pure Wing. If Scotty thought he could get the job done then so do I. He does have two rings to Doms one, is much younger, and the team plays with a lot more confidence in front of him. He has improved his play overall and is simply better than the old aging former shell of himself, Dominik Hasek. Ozzie!Ozzie!Ozzie! Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

Hasek saga one = bye bye buffalo
Hasek saga two = chased outta Detroit
Hasek saga three = shoved outta Ottawa with a shotgun
Hasek saga four = 41, bad groin, only wallet wants to play.
Now I think I’m outnumbered here with Wings fans, but I dont’ give Hasek the time of day. As one commenter said a few entries ago:
Three games in 6 nights is what Hasek just did, for the first time this year. Was the schedule that brutal last year? Don’t remember. But if not, it may be the first time in 3 or 4 years he’s been tasked with that kind of workload.
I’m sorry, but playoff hockey IS a game every two nights, or at least it should be if hockey was lower than circuses, dog shows, professional pogo-stick contests in the arena’s these days....
If Hasek can’t play evey two nights for two months when it matters most, then he should have been on the bench to start with, and Osgood should be starting.

Hasek disappointed with his play. That is an understatement. The Wings have the best goalie in the league and he sits and waits. Meanwhile, Dom continues to suck. Key to winning game five. Start Osgood! Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!
