from the Detroit News,
The nagging injuries are mounting for the Red Wings.
The latest is goalie Dominik Hasek, who will miss Friday’s game against Chicago, and likely Sunday’s against Colorado, with a thigh injury.
The Wings recalled Jimmy Howard from Grand Rapids to back up Chris Osgood this weekend.
Hasek wants to be careful.
“I had a little bit of tightness after the game against Chicago (Tuesday) and yesterday at practice,” Hasek said.

My heart started racing when I read the headline, “Hasek Out.” Hopefully this thigh injury will heal quickly and it won’t turn into a groin injury…

khan is reporting that Chelios has a sore groin.
Wings managment has nothing left to do or prove but bite their nails everyone stays healthy. Wings aquired grit defensmen, solid goaltending, Pavel and Hank picked up the slack, Kenny made the right deadline moves. The only thing keeping them from making a solid run is health (and luck).

Well tightness is way different than groin pull. The Wings have a knack to misleading the fan with the real issue. This could be a inner ear infection if it’s accoring to the Wings…

It sounds like Dom tweaked his thigh (think quad muscle, thigh contusions [charley horse], not the interior stuff), so the Wings don’t want him to overcompensate and then end up with a groin injury.
He did go down a few times against the Hawks and came up slowly, so this is preventative medicine.

the news that every red wing fan has been dreading to hear all season. hopefully it is simply what it is stated to be. soon these injuries will become the generic but dreaded “lower body injury”.
