from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal,
Ales Hemsky won’t be playing any time soon.
“He’s out indefinitely,” said Edmonton Oilers’ coach Tom Renney, when asked when the right-winger’s troublesome groin problem might get him back on the ice.
Hemsky played in Montreal Wednesday night and had a goal and two assists but he was a scratch against the Maple Leafs in Toronto Thursday and wasn’t at practice Saturday morning as the Oilers prepared to play the St. Louis Blues on Hockey Night in Canada. That’s five games he’ll have missed.
“I don’t want to risk getting it torn,” Hemsky said Thursday night in the press box in Toronto.
