ESPN’s Scott Burnside and Pierre LeBrun have teamed up this week and churned out the hardest-hitting piece of hockey journalism of late July.
Hockey’s answer to Woodward and Bernstein actually got Alexander Ovechkin to say—on record!—the same exact things he said in a Russian interview about six weeks ago, when he threatened to quit the NHL if the league and IIHF don’t have an agreement in place that would allow its players to play in the 2014 Olympic games in Sochi, Russia. (It’s, in fact, the interview you see below—the one we posted here on July 29th.)
Then they wrote a whole story on it. Blockbuster!!!
Burnside and LeBrun even got some reaction to this old news!
