Anisimov apparently went to the Eric Lindros school of puck carrying. Nice hit.

After watching it again I’m laughing my butt off. After the live action sequence they show Stewart skating and he’s got a big grin on his face.

It wasn’t a blind side hit or ambush or anything - Anisimov saw him right in front of him, and ran right into the collision. I don’t get why he didn’t do something to at least brace himself, if not try to avoid the hit - it wasn’t a surprise. Do not get it.
Unless he just badly underestimated Stuart’s closing speed or something. Good hard hit.

Who blocks a body shot with his face? wow. Stuart made a clean hit, not a “his head’s down so let’s get him” hit. Matt Cooke and Brad Richards should study this video clip.

Nice hit, but it feels like something is missing. Oh, that’s right, there wasn’t a fight after the hit. That’s nice to see. There was someone who at least went to Stuart to have a talking to, if not more, but at least nobody chased after him Pascal Morency style and ended up (almost) fighting him. Let’s get more of that.

Gotta love Ken and Mick’s comments about the hit…“Do you see the birds? They are right there” hahahahaha so good

I was a little surprised when watching the game that Mickey lit into Anisimov so much for not paying attention. Anisimov’s been in North Americas long enough at this point that he really should know better though
I would definitely cite this hit as an example of the player not taking care of himself and leaving himself vulnerable.

It just kind of reminds me of when he destroyed Umberger on the playoffs… in both cases, it looks like each player glanced up/over, saw Stuart, then decided to put their head back down anyway and run right into the hit.

I wonder if it has anything to do with technique. If you watch, both of those hits Nathan mentioned came with him bent over and gliding in backwards…as my daughter said last night, “He butt blasted him, Daddy.”...ah sweet innocence.
But anyways, I’m wondering if maybe when the player coming up the wing quickly glances and sees him bent over, if maybe he just appears that he’s about to get knocked into tomorrow.

Comrade Anisimov is not having the greatest week, first the Cooke hit and now this….

At this pace he’ll be out of hockey very soon.
Still nice hit, that’s great solid clean hockey at it’s best.
