NBC=20 minutes of pre-game commercials. CBC does it right. What on earth was Bettman thinking toadying to NBC.
Gigantic commercial ridden joke of a network. Yea, I know Conan is bigger than the Stanley Cup. Fire Bettman.

I love seeing the atmosphere in the arena and hearing the anthems, and seeing any pregame ceremonies. It doesn’t take long, there are quite enough commercials as it is, and it sets the scene better than any empty-headed inane blathering studio chatter ever could.
If they need the commercials, then stick one more ad in each of the commercial breaks during the game. If nothing else, it will make me less likely to overshoot when I fast forward to skip the ads.

The montage was excellent, save one fatal flaw: Coldplay
And it’s not even a knock against the band or the song itself. It was just out of place. That song has zero energy, yet they play it mere minutes before puck drop of the most important and exciting series of the season.
But apart from that one complaint, HNIC knows how to build up to a game, complete with anthems.
