from Chris Zelkovich of the Toronto Star,
As if there were any doubts where Cherry’s allegiances lay, a post-game chat with host Ron MacLean removed them. As the two looked at a replay of what might have been a Boston offside that led to a key goal, MacLean said it might have been offside but added, ``You see nothing wrong with it, of course.”
But showing bias is nothing new with Canada’s most-watched hockey show.
Yesterday, commentator P.J. Stock previewed the Calgary-San Jose game with this: ``Hopefully, the minus-9 temperatures (in Calgary) will cool the big boys, or should I say, the big Sharks of San Jose.”
The CBC won’t get any complaints about that one, but that kind of comment belongs on a hometown radio station, not on a publicly funded network.

Outside the more than obvious Cherry being biases (woudl he watch hockey if it wasn’t the Leafs or Bruins???), what’s wrong with showing some biased towards the teams playing?
For the most part, CBC HNIC lets them slip in every once and a while. Compared to the regional coverage where you believe that not only is there only one team on the ice, but that that team has Lord Stanley permanently bolted to it’s bench, the CBC isn’t that bad. That said, the announcers universally suck, and even die-hard Leafer Cole can’t get the names right half the time for the Leafs.
I have no problem watching some biased called hockey. Beats biased-officialled hockey. Write an article about that Chris.

I don’t have issues with CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) showing bias towards a Canadian team.
This guy is on crack. The Toronto media is perhaps the most biased in the free world.

I always thought Grapes was on in-between periods to voice his opinion not to provide journalistic integrity. I have no problem with the guys shilling in-between periods because I can just turn it off. While the game is on, less talking is always welcomed.

Cherry pulling for the Bruins over the Habs? Stop the presses. As for P.J. Stock. yikes, if he manages to put a cohesive sentence together, it will be his first.
