Get your calendars out hockey fans and start circling the dates - CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA returns this September with a total of 29 all-Canadian match-ups and the game’s biggest stars, announcing an 87-game broadcast schedule for the 2010-11 season. Plus, viewers will again be able to watch the CBC game of their choice with live and on-demand streaming of all games, special features and much more, available at CBCSports.ca.
CBC’s HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA will get fans primed for the season with two pre-season Saturday night match-ups, on Sept. 25 with Anaheim at Vancouver and Oct. 2 with Detroit at Toronto. The 58th regular season of CBC’s HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA begins Thursday, Oct. 7, with an Original Six contest between Montreal and Toronto, at 7 p.m. ET, followed by Calgary battling Edmonton at 10 p.m. ET. The action continues on Saturday, Oct. 9, as pre-game show Scotiabank Hockey Tonight makes its regular season debut at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by three signature games: Ottawa at Toronto at 7 p.m. ET, Montreal at Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. ET and Los Angeles squaring off against Vancouver at 10 p.m. ET.
CBC’s schedule includes a number of other must-watch events including the all-Canadian outdoor NHL Heritage Classic, with Montreal traveling to Calgary’s McMahon Stadium to battle the Flames, the 2010 NHL Winter Classic on New Years Day from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, featuring an outdoor showdown between the Capitals and Penguins, the 2011 NHL All-Star Super Skills and 58th NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 29/30 and the 11th annual Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada from Whitehorse, Yukon on Feb. 12. The NHL regular season will wrap on April 9, and the season culminates with the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs and CBC’s exclusive coverage of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. Complete broadcast details for the upcoming season of CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA will be available in the coming weeks. Additional games may be added to the broadcast schedule closer to the start of the season.
