via Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
• How long before Pat Quinn is coaching or managing the Ottawa Senators? Or both?
• The more the Leafs play Curtis Joseph in goal, the better chance they’ll have of being in the lottery for John Tavares.
• The next month or two of hockey should be fascinating, watching to see what Brian Burke gets in return for Tomas Kaberle, Pavel Kubina and Nik Antropov, three valuable pieces of playoff fodder.
• Word is around that the Vancouver Canucks plan to take a run at Antropov to play alongside Mats Sundin.

Re: the Toronto Trade talks,
It really gets on my nerves these Toronto fans who systematically find a way, year after year, to take their most talented players and regard them as do-nothing castaways who must be traded to this or that team for some no-name prospect. or draft pick. Then they cry and wring their hands about how much their team sucks.
Get a grip folks; everyone has cold spells but if you run the numbers Kaberle and Antropov are some of your most valuable franchise players at the moment. Look back at the wake of other great players you let go and take a deep breath.
Man I would hate to play for Toronto if I were a professional player, all stick and no carrot.
