Holik Named Atlanta Captain

The Thrashers named veteran forward Bobby Holik captain on Tuesday.

Holik replaces the retired Scott Mellanby to become the sixth captain in team history. Earlier in training camp, Holik talked about the daunting task of replacing Mellanby inside the team dressing room.

You have to think there’ll be less pressure as the captain for Atlanta (making $4.25 million) than as the third-line checking center for the Rangers (making $9 million).
