Ken Holland was on Fan590 in Toronto about 1/2 hour ago and talked about how the Hossa deal came about. Kenny also mentioned future plans and said the Sundin camp told him yesterday afternoon that they were not interested in the Wings offer, they would be going in a different direction.

that is awesome. perhaps if they can win one next year Hossa will agree to a $2M pay cut so we can afford Zetterberg and others.

If you “listen between the lines” in Kenny’s interview, he makes it pretty clear that he felt Sundin was simply looking for the biggest payday he can get. So, welcome to Vancouver (and a first-round exit next spring), Mats, you big knucklehead.
Kenny says in his Nine Secrets to Stanley Cup Success: “The only thing that matters to me is winning…” And everything Hossa has said indicates he’s a Kenny/Wings-type player.
There’s no way that Tick Tock signed Marian without some plan for keeping him beyond this year. We trust in Ken!

Mats looking for a big pay day? THat’s BS, otherwise he’d've already signed in VanCity.
Not sure why he wouldn’t want to sign in Detroit, except the fact that it’s been stated that he has many business interests within Canada that would be affected by a move to the US. Perhaps he’s only looking at staying in Canada.

Perhaps he’s only looking at staying in Canada.
Or perhaps he’s looking to match the experience he had in Toronto. I hear Columbus needs a center for Nash’s line.
Whatever. He snoozed! He losed!
