‘Hot Rumor’ Talk

from Spector,
Don Brennan reports “a hot rumour in NHL circles” has the Senators, Chicago Blackhawks and LA Kings on the verge of a blockbuster deal, which would see G Martin Gerber and D Andrej Meszaros shipping to the Kings, F Anze Kopitar dealt to the Blackhawks and G Nikolai Khabibulin and either D Brent Seabrook or Cam Barker moved to the Senators.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: ...this deal sucks for the Kings, moving their best forward (and perhaps future franchise player) for an overpaid average goalie and a young defenseman which they’ve already got in abundance.

wishful thinking on the the Blackhawks part. Dean Lombardi isn’t stupid.

This deal sucks for everyone but the Blackhawks. I would agree—wishful thinking. No Kane-Kopitar-Toews line for you!!!

This is the worst hockey rumer I have ever heard. If the Kings took that deal the franchise would fold and Lombardi’s head would be on display downtown.

And they say LA fans don’t know hockey. How stupid can you be?

Yes, Lombardi is that stupid. If it happens I am burning my Kings jersey’s and devoting myself to my number two team, Chicago.

Yes, Lombardi is that stupid.
Then Kings fans should assign a stalker to him with the sole mission to smack his cell phone out of his hand if it starts ringing. This would be horrible for them.

Worry not. This was made up from some un-informed Ottawa hack hockey journalist that apparently has never seen a western conference game. I’m not even a Kings fan, and if this deal goes down, I’m giving up on this league forever. Is there a Center Ice package for the KHL?

I don’t believe this rumor one bit. I like Kopitar and as a Wings fan, I’m envious the Kings drafted him. This guy can seriously skate.
To let this kid go would spell a riot in the Kings’ rebuilding plans.

I don’t buy it. Sportsnet jumped all over it, but I don’t see how the Blackhawks would give up on Seabrook or Barker so easily.
