How About Heatley To The Wild?

from Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune,
(Bryan) Murray, who is extremely close with Fletcher after mentoring him with Florida and Anaheim, said Heatley has given him a list of teams. But if he works out a better deal with another team, Heatley will be pressured to make it work or he will remain in Ottawa.
Asked if he could add an expensive player such as Heatley or Vincent Lecavalier, Fletcher said: “I won’t talk specific names, but I think we could. But we’d have a lot of $500,000 players in key spots unless you could move another salary and create room that way. So there’s ways to do anything. But the higher the number gets, the less flexibility you have to fill other holes.”
And Fletcher said he believes the Wild must add a center, winger and as many as three defensemen via trade or free agency.
You can bet if Fletcher had the choice between re-signing Gaborik and trading for Heatley, he would choose Gaborik simply because it means not giving up assets.

Maybe it’s just me, but how is Heatley not one of the most hated guys in the NHL?
In what way is he not Leonard Little?

i want this heatley saga to end soon.
Heatley is gonna be as much hated in Ottawa as Chris Pronger in Edmonton.
Brain Burke is a complete moron. Heater and Pronger’s situation is similar and as far as i remember he sold the future of Anahiem for chris pronger or may be leafs doesnt have any future to sell to Ottawa thats why he made those dumb comments the other day.
Lastly, i havent seen that troll evil pens lately

I can actually see Burke’s point in this - Pronger wanted a trade in the middle of the season, but Lowe figured that if he ignored his request it would just go away as the hockey season went on, while Heatley leaked this himself.
Either way, Heatley should have kept quiet and pushed for a trade behind the scenes. Like a basketball player whining about how he needs more money to feed his family, this gets no sympathy from anyone.
Besides, it seems as though Ottawa has a decent coach now - and Jason Spezza catches far more abuse and criticism from the fans, and he deals with it much better. Heatley is hardly in a horrible situation.
Personally, I hope he ends up in Phoenix. Or maybe Atlanta.

Heatley has a NMC, I believe, and therefore has to approve the target team of a trade. Of course, if none of the preferred destination are capable of accommodating Heatley’s contract or sufficient value in return, it could be a question of staying in Ottawa or going to a less ideal location.

Going to Minnesota would be more ideal that Ottawa in my humble opinion.
Minnesota sells out with 18,000 adoring fans. Minnesota also didn’t miss the playoffs by much last season.

The problem with Heatley is that he’s ungrateful. The guy escaped (at the very least) an involuntary manslaughter charge and forced a trade to a contender, then when the contender had a bad year he decided he wants to go to another team (then gives a list). NOTHING BUT TROUBLE.
He fails to realize that most GOOD teams don’t have the money or will to pay for a guy who will be a wash.
