Wow. Pretty good pick-up for the Hawks. Not a bad 1-2 punch there next year....

Can “the wall” still be bought out or put on waivers?

thought Khabibulin had the fourth year remaining in Chicago at $6.7 M?

It’s $6.75M actually. So, now the Hawks have $12.35M tied up in two goalies. Even if the Wings give Jimmy Howard $1.5M, they’ll only have $3.667M of cap space tied up in three goalies.
Is it too late to start a Ken Holland for President campaign?

Maybe they figure he can fill in for Khabibulin after one year when his contract is up - at the same time Lang’s $4 million will come off the books, but Kane and Toews will still have one more year to run on their inexpensive deals ...
For a year they will have big money tied up in goaltending, but after that the proportion really drops.

Leaving Tampa Bay for Chicago was the worst decision Nik Khabibulin ever made. :(

Tallon says he’s keeping them both, but now that we’re 3 million over salary cap...I don’t know what we’re going to do.

Something to go happen with Khabibulin that I’m not aware of? Because if not, and Huet’s deal is really over 5/per, then they’ve got almost 12 million in cap space tied up in goaltenders…
