So what do you do: remain angry and bitter about the Cole hit? Or rejoice because Hurricanes management found a way to at least replace Cole’s goals with a steady veteran hand?
Go with the latter. It’s much more becoming.
You want to be a big boy? Then stop acting like a petulant child.
The Hurricanes are on top of the NHL. Any list of the NHL young stars includes Cole and Eric Staal. Rutherford is being hailed as a genius. Laviolette is a brilliant tactician and motivator.
Stop behaving like the Detroit Red Wings stole your milk money and when you complained about it, commissioner Gary Bettman said “Tough. Why don’t you just get out of the way? You can’t play with them.”

I agree. Though I don’t think Bettman said this. I think Bettman said, “I’ll let you move your team to a non-hockey market, and then force the league into a piss-poor salary cap so I can suffocate Detroit, Colorado, Philly, Toronto, and the other places with fans, and let Carolina and Nashville have a chance!”

Don’t tell me--you’re a “large-market” fan who’s upset that your team isn’t able to “compete” by throwing fat wads of cash at half the upper-level players in the League anymore, aren’t you?

It’s true, though--though really, this funk is just three games and it happened once earlier this season. If it goes to four, then I’ll start wondering WTF is going on.
