If Malkin Is Great

from the Good, The Bad And The Duthie,
If Malkin is sensational, I think Pittsburgh wins the cup. If he is just average, or disappears, as he was sometimes prone to do before he blew up in the second half of this season, Detroit wins.
Sure, it’s a lot more complicated than that. But I’m a simpleton. And simply put, Malkin’s play, more than any other single factor, will decide the Stanley Cup Champion.

Did he just read my comments on this site and on Pensblog?
I’ve said this a million times, even before we knew this was the Finals matchup.
The Malkin mismatch and Detroit’s D advantage. The two things that will decide the series.

Simpleton: a person lacking in intelligence or common sense. He said it.

I think Duthie, er, I mean, Nathan is right, but I’d add Staal to the mix on the Pens side. On the Wings side, I think the two “key” players are Flip and Mule.
If Malkin scores big time and Staal is both a defensive and offensive force, the Pens probably win. If Mule plays and picks up where he left off and Flip scores three or four goals to compliment his defensive play, the Wings win.
