If The Kane Case Isn’t Cleared, What Will Chicago Do?

Craig Custance of the Sporting News has a statement from Patrick Kane’s agent, Pat Brisson, basically stating Kane will be cleared of all charges.
But what if he isn’t?
from Craig Custance of the The Sporting News,
John McDonough wasn’t talking specifically about Blackhawks players when he said it. Chicago was in the middle of its surprising playoff run when McDonough met with a group of reporters at the United Center.
He was gracious with his time. Even ordered some pizza for a small group of writers working a long shift. And during the long conversation, he shared his philosophy as team president of the Blackhawks.
There’s a Blackhawks Way, he said, and if one of his employees doesn’t get it, they’re out.
“I’m not really patient and have a tendency to call people on things because, to me, once is a trend,” McDonough said at the time.
Now, we’ll see if that trend includes star forwards.

If he’s cleared of all charges, suspend him for a few games for putting himself in a position that gives the league bad press. If he’s found guilty, suspend him severely and let us get on with the rest of our lives.
What a circus this off-season has been for Chicago…I love it.

The problem isn’t that your hockey prodigy punched some random dude, hockey players punch people, it’s a fact. Twenty years ago, players punched guys consistantly… but they always had a reason.
Now, the problem is that your hockey prodigy feels so entitled that he’d rather punch a guy instead of saying “keep the change” - what every drunk 20-something in the history of this country has ever said over TWENTY F*CKING cents.
Unless there’s more to this, unless Kane is shown to be anything but a little punk (and cheap), let him play. Make him the anti-hero, keep away from your daughter type. Bring up this incident on every VS and NBC broadcast, as I don’t see how it can hurt ratings. Make him out to be a half-sized, bleached Rodman… who loves Crosby. And Ovechkin. Maybe even Malkin if Crosby is injured…
How about they all just do a reality show, as it’s not really about the game anymore, right?
