Sauntering down the press box with six and a half minutes remaining, the injured Mike Commodore glanced up from fiddling with his BlackBerry, spotting a familiar face tapping tentatively on a laptop.
“Hey, how’s it going?’’ asked the long-ago local folk hero, his trademark red fright wig/afro shorn fashionably short.
A noncommital shrug.
“Not bad. Same old.’’
“Yeah, I hear you,’’ replied the former Calgary Flame. “Same old . . . ’’
He shook his head, glanced heavenwards, in knowing resignation.
“Same old Jarome.’’
Yup, same old Jarome. At last.
