Indications Are Sutter Will Be Back With The Devils

via Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice,

I’ve tried to reach Niclas Havelid’s agent, Mark Stowe, the last two days to get him to confirm the reports out of Sweden that Havelid has decided to play in his home country next season and has no intention of returning to the NHL. I’m still waiting for him to call me back.

I just spoke to Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said he had not spoken with Havelid about that subject, but added, “I would not be surprised.”

Havelid is slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

There is still nothing on Devils coach Brent Sutter’s future. Although Sutter hasn’t said so officially, all indications are that he will be back next season.
