Is Pronger’s Back Bothering Him?

from Ray Parrillo of the Philadelphia Inquirer,
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren declined to reveal details of Pronger’s injury before Monday’s game at the Wells Fargo Center.
“There is nothing to talk about,” Holmgren said through a team spokesman.
It was unclear whether Pronger’s absence was related to the broken right hand that sidelined him for the final 16 regular-season games and the first five playoff games, or if he has suffered another injury.
Earlier Monday, Holmgren said Pronger was “OK” even though the defenseman didn’t take part in the morning skate. In the final minutes of the Flyers’ 7-3 loss to the Bruins Saturday in Game 1, Pronger went up the tunnel to the locker room rather than remain on the bench with his teammates, an indication that something was wrong.
There has been speculation by some media outlets that the 36-year-old Pronger is having back problems.

And the Pens have done how well since he’s come to Philly? Oh yeah, at least 1 less playoff round each year. Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about Pronger. How is the goaltending his fault?
The fact is, the first year he was on the team they went from going out in the first round to being in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Way to back up your point by not bringing anything to the argument.
And phillyd is right; since Pronger got to Philly they’ve been better than the Pens two years in a row, so you have no right to make fun.

AND THEY MADE IT TO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS WITH THAT GOALIE!
What part of that do you not understand? They were within TWO GAMES of winning the STANLEY CUP.
What kind of moron are you that you think it’s bad to pay for top shelf defensemen? Do you ever, EVER think before you make a comment?
OMG, they don’t pay enough for goaltending!!!
Well guess what? Their goaltending got them past a team with one of the best goaltenders in the league.
Boo hoo, EP, boo hoo. Your team got eliminated and now you’re going to make fun of teams that are BETTER THAN YOURS?!?!
Hey, dummy, the Flyers are STILL PLAYING. The Pens aren’t.
Oh, and maybe you’re not aware of this, but Pronger’s cap hit is LESS THAN FIVE MILLION DOLLARS. It’s not like they signed him to a Levacalier contract or anything.
Get your stupid head out of your stupid ass, stupid.

What?
Of course winning the cup is the goal. Explain where I said it wasn’t, please.
But guess what? Going from being ousted in the first round to coming within two games of winning the cup IS an accomplishment.
Are the Bolts failures if they don’t win the cup this year? I guess going from the bottom third in the league to the second round of the playoffs in one year is a failure if they don’t win the cup, right?
My entire point was that you’re using the Pronger contract as a bad thing, but the team is CLEARLY better with him on it, as evidenced by the fact that they were within TWO GAMES of WINNING the STANLEY CUP.
Is that really so difficult to understand?
