Richards left the game after this hit from Tomas Fleischmann Sean Bergenheim and according to reports, will be re-evaluated again today.
Willie Mitchell also left the game early with a lower-body injury.

Incidental and the head isn’t the “principle” point of contact.

No different than the hit LeTang took from Pacioretty the other night. I didn’t think Pacioretty should have got anything for that hit nor should Bergenheim for this one.
I expect three games for this.

Totally not the same as the hit Letang took… Letang hit was directly to head. Right call in that instance as well (well by Shanny, not on the ice).

It was shoulder to shoulder first. Whiplash from the collision caused any head impact there might’ve been. It was a good body check on a player in complete control of the puck.

Clean hit. Richards should keep his head up. Richards can dish it out but cries like a baby when he gets hit. Richards is a punk.

Non issue here. However, Bergenheim didn’t need to make that hit as Richards was already covered.

i think it was one of those hits that is not necessary. I don’t think it was directed at the head, but there really was no need for him to take a run at him that way to begin with.
