from the CP via TSN,
The New York Islanders signed defenceman Chris Campoli to a three-year contract on Monday.
“Signing Chris Campoli to a long-term contract was a priority of ours this off-season,” Islanders GM Garth Snow said in a statement. “He’s one of the most skilled young defenceman in the NHL and we’re thrilled that he’ll continue his development in an Islanders uniform.”

Isles are unlikely to trade Campoli - he’s young and cheap, and should get better. Neither of the Leafs you mention fit any of the three categories.

Hey, maybe this is one of those “sign and trades” we hear so much about to facilitate this major trade to Toronto for McCabe or Kubuina?
