Sun columnist Steve Simmons wrote that a source told him Ferguson tried to fire Maurice, but was “prevented” from doing so.
“There isn’t a shred of truth to that assertion,” Ferguson told TSN. “This is made up, its a complete fabrication.”
So many reports, yes, no, maybe, he said, no he said… Just let it play out, the Leafs will do what they want to do

Peddie also said reports that he and the MLSE board of directors are talking to potential replacements for Ferguson are incorrect. He also said he has had no conversations with Ferguson about firing Maurice.
