It’s A Matt Cooke Morning

The hockey headlines this morning are filled with Matt Cooke suspension stories.
In my opinion, what else is there to say about Cooke that hasn’t been said at least 50 times.
So, time to move on, but let’s hope not only has Matt Cooke learned what the NHL will and will not tolerate, but other players as well.
Hard hitting games, yes I am all for them. Game where players attempt to take another one out of the game, nope, don’t even go there with me.

I still hope someone lays a beating on his sorry ass, even if its next season.

Couldn’t agree more Primis.
And you’ll get your wish. This guy doesn’t think like a rationale human being. He was obviously thrown down a long flight of stairs as a kid because his thought process falls somewhere between goldfish and retarded monkey.
He might be hesitant the first few games but after that, he’ll be back to being 100% Cooke.
So expect an elbow, knee, hit from behind, blindside hit, stick to the face. And that’ll probably be on his first shift of his 3rd game back.
The sad part is, everyone know’s he’s going to end another players career before his is over. That’s why I hope his next infraction doesn’t leave anyone permanently damaged so the league can simply ban him from playing in the NHL ever again.

Actually, I think Cooke will come back a changed man…..and a bad hockey player. This is the only way he knows how to play the game. If he tries to change the way he plays, he will be ineffective. I think he will fade pretty fast and be out of a job in the next year.

Let Cooke come back and hope he’s stupid enough to pick a fight with Evander Kane again, then maybe we can all be lucky enough to get to see this again.

Honestly? I hope he doesn’t learn and still does it again. Because a) I think he’s truly that dumb and that would prove just how dumb he really is and how dumb the Pens are for continuing to employ him, and b) I want the league to be put in an even more-uncomfortable situation with this and pretty much forced to dish out even MORE severe punishment.
He needs a “death penalty” maybe. Maybe that’s what it will take to get the league to understand the current disciplinary system has failed. And maybe that’s the sort of thing the other frequent offenders need to see.
Becaus eI still don’t think this latest suspension is enough.
