from Erik Erlendsson at Bolts Report,
Not knowing how long Kuba might be in town (he said he’s probably heading to Ottawa on Sunday), I figured I’d try to catch up with the soft-spoken Czech defenseman to get his thoughts on the trade and how everything went down....
This is what he had to say: “The way it was presented to me at the time, I knew even if I said no [to the trade] I wasn’t going to stay here on the team,’’ he said. “So it didn’t make any sense to say “no I’m going to stay’’ and then know I’m going somewhere else anyway.’’
This was one of those ear perk type moments when you start trying to read between the comments and begin to wonder, what does he mean by the way things were presented to him

If i were him, hell yeah i’d agree to waive my no trade clause. Tampa is going to have an average of 10 goals scored against them every game. And who’s going to be blamed? Probably not the owners. Probably not the 17 forwards. Probably not the coach. Its going to be the defense and the goaltenders faults. He along with the other 3 defensemen they have would have been the scapegoat of all the teams problems.
At least when Ottawa does terrible, they find a goalie or a coach to blame.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Unless they’re just in it for the money (and the paycheques that Oren Koules signs are quite tempting), it’s hard to believe that anyone would want to play in Tampa after hearing another story like this.
