Jarkko Ruutu Hit On Patrick Kaleta

via John Vogl of the Buffalo News, The Sabres lost forward Patrick Kaleta just 29 seconds into the second period. He got the puck along the boards, and Jarkko Ruutu came from behind to drive his shoulder into Kaleta’s head, which then bounced off the glass.

Ruutu, whose body of work includes biting former Sabres enforcer Andrew Peters last season, was given a five-minute boarding penalty. Kaleta did not return.

Said Ruff: “He isn’t very good.”

That hit is the epitome of “targeting the head.”

Kaleta is a dik so good. Ruutu should be suspended for 25 games. Great news for Boston!

Yes. And if former players were in charge of handing out discipline, I’m not sure he’d play again this season.

Kaleta is a huge POS so he had it coming to him.  What comes around, goes around.

Wow, cheering for a player to get injured?  Humanity at its finest.

Live by the sword due by the sword. With Kaleta and Ruutu the situation could have been easily reversed

Ruutu fined but no suspension according to the Ottawa Citizen.

So… Rutu gets away with a blatant headshot but Kaleta was suspended for a hit that was far more questionable in terms of warranting a suspension. What is the deal here? The NHL has become a joke in terms of dealing fairly with suspensions.

I’m not sure if this comment was partly directed at me or not but I just wanted to clarify that I by no means cheer for someone to get hurt.  I said he had it coming to him meaning that when he runs around and does stupid crap like this… well it’s not a surprise that it happens to him.  As I said… what comes around, goes around.
