from Dave Pollak of the Mercury News,
I reached Devellano on Thursday and he pretty much re-created the Las Vegas conversation he said he had in late June with Wilson and Sharks CEO Greg Jamison.
“We were at the NHL awards and had a drink together,” Devellano said. “I initiated it.”
Devellano said he advised Wilson and Jamison to resist the temptation to break up the team.
“Just tweak it,” Devellano said he told the Sharks brass. “You’re a team that‘s been pretty successful over the years. Maybe there’s a player that can’t get it done, but the one thing you can’t afford to do is just break it up completely. My advice is just to hang tough. See if you can’t add a player here or there. You might have to eliminate a guy. But don’t break it up.”
more from Devellano and Sharks talk too..

This article is funny as heck the Red Wings do minor roster tweaks by adding players like Mariam Hossa, Brian Ralafaski and Brenndan Shanahan, the Sharks do minor tweaking by adding Scott Nicol.

Hey, if I’m another Western Conference team I’d absolutely want the Sharks to keep doing what they are doing, too.

So, apparently Dan Boyle, Joe Thornton, Bill Guerin and Brian Campbell WEREN’T roster tweaks? When you add several years worth of Red Wing “tweaks”, maybe you should do the same for the Sharks.

Hey Mattie, hows it going in the Sharks Front office, now back to your laughable response.
Detroit signed Brian Rafalski, the Sharks Signed Rob Blake
Win: Detroit
Detroit signed Marian Hossa, the Sharks trade for Boyle
Win: Detroit, because the Sharks did have to trade away 3 players, while Detroit traded away none.
Would you like me to continue
Bill Guerin Cost the Sharks a first round pick and the Sharks have nothing to show for that deal
Brian Campbell cost the Sharks a first round pick and the Sharks have nothing to show for that deal either.
Now Mattie can you give us the deadline deals the Red Wings made, or the trades that they made were they ended up getting nothing in return.

More hogwash and excuses from Doug Wilson and the Sharks organ I zation. What a bunch of crap. The real issue is that Wilson cannot trade anyone because he wants to much for our overrated players. And he won’t trade Marleau, or Nabokov because they have NTC.
Unlike most general managers who actually have a plan of their own. Wilson’s plan is to follow others ideas. He’s not a leader of men rather a follower of the leader.
