Doesn’t look good, CPR performed. Say a prayer hockey fans.
If I recall correctly, Fischer had some heart beat issues in the past, now uncomfirmed reports are he may have taken a puck to the throat.
update 8:16pm, Now reporting seeing Fisher shaking just before he collopsed. He has been removed from the bench area and on the way to the hospital. Teams sent to lockerroom with about 7 minutess left in the first period. Ice will be resurfaced and play will resume. Replays from different angles catch nothing on the bench.
update 8:20pm, Reports are now Fischer breathing on his own. Reports are now Fischer still at the JLA. Not transported to the hospital yet.
update 8:28pm, He may have got a puck in the throat while on the ice, skated slowly to the bench and collapsed. He is now on the way to Detroit Receivng Hospital, reports say he was breathing but unconscious. Now it may have been a stick to the throat.
update 8:37pm, Ice is resurfaced, no players on ice yet, but the teams are waitng for another ambulance to arrive in case another incident occurs since the first one left with Fischer.
update 8:47, Good news, breathing and responding, teams meeting to decide what to do next. Wings PR man John Hahn said he suffered a seizure.
update 8:50pm, Announcement just made at the JLA of the conditions I just reported.
update 8:56pm, Game canceled according to WXYT radio.
update 8:58pm, Mickey Redmond, Wings TV color man, is visually shaken from this. Speaking as a former hockey player, Mickey says you never know what can happen.
update 9:00pm, Game officially canceled.
update 9:06pm, I will continue to update throughout the evening, but I don’t think we will hear much in the next couple of hours. Updates will be in a new post.
update 10:30pm, for people coming here from search engines, etc...you can find more information at this post.
