from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said the club believes defenseman Jonathan Ericsson (left knee) is fine and will be able to play Saturday in New Jersey.
“We think he’s OK, we’ll know (Friday),’’ Holland said. “They did some testing and the initial report is that it’s nothing significant.’‘
He said Ericsson will accompany the team on its flight to New York tonight for the annual Fathers Trip. After facing the Devils, the Wings play at the New York Rangers on Sunday.

At this point, it wouldn’t matter who goes down next. It’s the ones who are healthy that are playing like crap.
I was at the game last week vs. Atlanta. Afterward, my impression was that Zetterberg was busting his ass at both ends of the ice, but beyond that?????
Certainly the injuries aren’t helping, but I do expect more out of Cleary, and of course Datsyuk. I really believe having Hudler skating on his line would help Pavs out.
Two things I would like to see the Wings do more of:
1. Throw the puck at the net from everywhere, and stop looking for a “perfect” shot.
2. Put some players from the other team on their ASSES when they are in front of the Wings net. Jonny Ericson..???? Brad Stuart??? Jakub Kindall??? Somebody ??????

At this point, it wouldn’t matter who goes down next. It’s the ones who are healthy that are playing like crap. This is a totally disorganized and unmotivated team.
When a team that’s 4-14 in it’s last 18 games comes into your building and totally dominates you, you know you have a problem. And it’s not the coach or the “system.” It the players themselves. Even when some of them (cough-Pavel-cough-Nick-cough) look like they’re trying, they really aren’t. Sad, but true.
