From the CP via TSN,
Roenick raised his hands and yelled as soon as the referee signalled the goal. He was immediately mobbed by his teammates.
The game was delayed a few minutes as Roenick skated in front of the Sharks’ bench with the puck raised above his head. He pointed into the stands as the crowd gave him an extended standing ovation. Even a few of the Coyotes joined in tapping their sticks.
Roenick became the third American-born player to reach 500 goals. The nine-time all-star ranks 40th in goals and 44th in points on the NHL career lists.

It seems that in a few games recently I’ve noticed the home teams wearing white? I wish that were the norm, but does anyone know why they’re doing it?

Jeff, the Wings wore white at home against Columbus and it was due to the fact the BJs were travelling with there dark colors and didn’t want to bring their whites with them, so the Wings agreed to wear their whites at home.
It happens throughoutthe season, I would like to see half the games in white, and the other half with the darks.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

I loved his exuberant celebration. Too often players reach a milestone and act almost absurdly humble. He is one of forty, and he has earned every right to scream and shout.
Congrats to him, even if that was the worst goal I’ve seen since Tommy Salo in the olympics.
