from Kevin Allen at USA TODAY,
Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere’s ability to make crucial saves at the right time this postseason could end up helping his bank account as much as his Anaheim Ducks team.
Giguere, 30, will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and his stellar performance this spring puts him in position to ask for a contract worth more than $5 million a season. Nashville Predators goalie Tomas Vokoun received a four-year extension worth $5.7 million a season, and his playoff resume isn’t as impressive as Giguere’s.

At the start of the season I said Niedermayer and Pronger are going to make Giguere look like Roy for his contract year.
He has come up with huge saves in the postseason, but if he signs a massive contract with a team that can not support him defensively, there are going to be problems.

I’ve not been impressed with Jiggy’s consistency during the season. He does, however, have the reputation of rising to the occassion during the playoffs.

I’ve not been impressed with Jiggy’s consistency during the season.
I’ve got the opposite opinion, actually. He’s been stellar all year in the Anaheim nets, and I don’t think it’s purely a function of Pronger and Niedermayer sheltering him from actual scoring chances. Teams do get great chances to score, and Giguere knows where to set up to stop them.
I don’t really know where this claim of inconsistency comes from—the only thing I can see inconsistent about his play is that he didn’t play while he was injured.

That seems to be the case, Fedorov came over after 2003, Pronger after 2006, Scott Niedermayer in 2005 (after 2003). Question is, which Senator is coming to the Ducks next season? Or will it be Giguere going to the Wings?
