Former Buffalo Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuk accidentally shot himself in the chin Tuesday with a .22-caliber rifle at his Fish Springs residence, according to the Record-Courier of Nevada.

Malarchuk, 47, was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno by helicopter. Douglas County sheriff’s deputies were investigating the incident Wednesday to determine if the shooting was accidental, the paper said....

Malarchuk is the goaltending coach for the National Hockey League Columbus Blue Jackets, and lives with his family in Fish Springs, Nev.

Holy crap.  That’s twice he’s had a brush with death.

It’s at least his third.  I know Malarchuk has battle a lot of issued in past, I hope he is alright.
