Kansas City Comparable To Columbus

from the Kansas City Star,

When Columbus was awarded an NHL franchise in 1997, critics howled that the city had no business getting a team. Bob Kravitz sarcastically wrote in the Rocky Mountain News: “It’s like I always tell my hockey-loving friends, ‘If there’s one thing I’ve always believed, it’s that Columbus, Ohio, deserves a hockey franchise.’ ”

As the NHL ponders expansion, many of the same things are being written about Kansas City.

of course, if kansas city really deserved a hockey team, martin brodeur would be known as as a scout not a devil.

it’s seattle that should be up next - history of stanley cup glory, no nhl team for 80 years, supports two WHL teams, ready-built rival in the canucks… when the new arena is built (hopefully around 2010), we have one grade-a hockey town

move teams to canada. their dollar is worth more and will be until the USA’s economy crashes because they have all the oil. Gary Bettman would be smart to leech canadian dollars into his US based business.

Quebec (Nordqiues), Winnipeg (Jets, or whatever) and Hamilton (who cares) should all get teams.

Seattle wouldnt be bad either but any smart capitalist would want to milk an external dollar thats going to be worth more than ours until who knows when.
