from Scott Burnside of ESPN,
How Pittsburgh can win
1. Crosby and Malkin … two is bigger than one
The three big boys in this series—Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin—have more than delivered the goods, combining for 31 points in the series. But let’s do the math. Can the Caps’ Ovechkin win a game by himself? Yes, he can. But if Ovechkin, Crosby and Malkin all bring their A-games Wednesday night, it should give the Penguins an edge, given the additional pressure on the Capitals’ defenders and rookie netminder Simeon Varlamov....How Washington can win
1. The one-man wrecking crew
Yes, we know it’s a team game, blah, blah, blah. But as much as Crosby has been a dynamic force in driving the Penguins forward and overcoming obstacles, Ovechkin has been the same kind of figure on the other side of the ice.

With all due respect to Mr. Burnside, Ovechkin has not dominated the games like Crosby has. Yes, Ovechkin’s stats show otherwise, but he does not control the puck, the play or the momentum like Crosby has in this series.
Ovechkin has many moments of brialliance, often ending in a goal for his team , but Crosby has shown the determination and effort to literally take over parts of the game. See Game 6 3rd period - albeit too little too late.
Ovechkin has received more help from his “Role players” than Crosby has, which is why the Capitals are still in this series. (See: Fedorov, Steckel, Semin etc.) Kunitz has yet to score a goal and Malkin has been relatively quiet - Save game #4.
Also, let’s not get me started on Ovechkin’s phantom assists. Watch the videos of all the goals in this series where Ovechkin is listed as having the 2nd assist - there are a tleast three where he doesn’t deserve a point according to the official rules.
