Kid Ready To See His First NHL Game, Misses Start By 5 Hours

from Glen McGregor of the Ottawa Citizen,
Ten-year-old Yehya Eldidi arrived at Scotiabank Place yesterday wearing his new Ottawa Senators jacket, flushed with excitement about seeing his first NHL game.
But instead of watching his favourite player, Daniel Alfredsson, skate against the New York Rangers, Yehya looked on through locked doors as cleaners changed garbage bags and vacuumed the carpets in the lobby.
Like a handful of other ticket-holders who showed up Saturday night, Yehya and his cousin, Abraham Issa, didn’t learn until too late that the start-time of the game had been moved up from the 7 p.m. printed on their tickets to 2 p.m.

That sucks. I remember watching hockey as a kid, there’s really nothing like it at all. I’d assume a regular game in Canada is like a playoff game in the US. I’m sure the Senators will do the right thing in this situation…err…I hope they will.

watching hockey in canada is not cheap at all. In vancouver, there is like a 3 year waiting period for season tickets. I think the minimum price is like 70 bucks per ticket. I remember being forced to buy tickets from scalpers just to watch games a few years back. I can no longer afford to go watch games, b/c it will set me back like 400 bucks for each game. Something i can no longer afford. 300 for a pair, 25 for parking, and 8.50 per SMALL beer and food is like 400 bucks at the very least.

Oh wow, I would be so choked if this happened toe. You would think they would do a better job of letting people know that the time has been changed. I feel so sorry for those people who came from out of town to watch the game. Watching hockey in Canada is definitely not cheap.
