Kronwall Hurt - Can We Get An Update

Nick Kronwall suffered a right hip injury early in last night’s game and was taken to a local Detroit hospital for further observation.
Mike Babcock said after the game the Wings had yet to receive an update.
Here we are, mid-afternoon on Saturday, and still nothing.
Our two sports radio stations are either talking NCAA basketball or who the Detroit Lions should draft.
No mention of Kronwall all day.
Our beat writers must be busy, nothing from them either.
Come on folks, are we talking about losing a top 4 dman for the week, a month, a day, someone let us know.
update 2:35pm, from the CP via TSN,
Detroit Red Wings defenceman Niklas Kronwall is expected to be out for as much as two months after suffering a non-displaced fracture of his sacrum during Friday’s game against Dallas.
The team also announced Saturday that captain Nicklas Lidstrom will miss Sunday’s game in Columbus because of a lower back strain.
Detroit has re-called defenceman Kyle Quincey from AHL Grand Rapids and expects to have defenceman Brett Lebda back in the lineup Sunday for the first time since suffering a concussion on March 24.

When are they going to put a stop to this kind of play? He hit Kronner when his back was to him (mostly) after a long run at him. This is an attempt to injure in my opinion. The league needs to protect the only assets it has: it’s players. I don’t go to see Quincey (although someday I might) I go to see Nick (both of them).

I play D in my league and thank god it’s not a crushing league. I watched the game and yea it was a clean hit, but Lundqvist had to have been 10-15 feet away and kept coming. It’s a wonder more players don’t pull the Simons swing.

Kronwall tried a nifty spin juke move to his left out of the corner and didn’t make it. I’ve seen him pull it off several times before to avoid the first forechecker. He couldv’e protected himself better against that 200+ lb incoming missile. I think he is a bit briddle and should start playing that way. He doesn’t have the tank like body to play like #16. He could stand to learn something from the other Nick about protecting ones self better.

I got an autographed Kronwall jersey for Christmas as I retired my Yzerman jersey after his retirement ceremony. It’s killing me not knowing what’s wrong and how long he may be out.
