Defenceman Pavel Kubina has been knocked out of the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup indefinitely with a medial collateral ligament injury to his right knee.

I believe the only way his salary would not count against the cap would be if he was put on the long-term injured reserve (as the Bruins recently did with Patrice Bergeron)

I don’t remember the announcers saying anything about this injury during last night’s game. When did he get hurt?

I think it was in the third, he came back to try it out and left the ice very upset… understandable now.
MCL isn’t as bad as ACL obviously, but still not something that you come back from quickly.
On the bright side, Stralman should get back into the lineup! Which imo is a good thing.
