La Greca Gone From NHL Live

from Ken Schott of the Daily Gazette,

NHL Live” has lost its host.

Don La Greca, who has hosted the two-hour hockey talkshow from noon-2 p.m. on Sirius XM Radio and the NHL Network, is off because of what he calls “a scheduling conflict.”

That sucks. I really like La Greca.

Won’t miss Don, or his New York/New Jersey bias, or the way he twichted his pen non-stop during the show. I have found the guy hosting the last week or so much more listenable/watchable. Now if they could keep EJ out of the studio too, the show would be even better.

I like Don as well.  He’s feisty and won’t let guests/callers/emailers walk all over him or his opinions.  I also like what Jimmy Dowd has done on the show, and Bill Clement is fairly good on the show as well.

But honestly?  If they’re going to have a rotating group working the show they may as well cancel the show.  You have to have stable hosts or else the listeners won’t build any kind of rapport with the show.

Both Le Greca and Hradek work for ESPN, and both have been pushed off the show.  Coincidence?

not complaining, still get to listen to him everyday from 2-6 on 1050 ESPN NY.
*During baseball season when Michael Kay is doing Yankees games, the primary host is La Greca, so his scheduling conflict is actually reality, and not something else.
