Great move by Gillis, Schneider needs to spend more time in Manitoba anyways.
Thumbs up Mike.

Quick has been playing very well.. and Labs, not so well.
Don’t know if it’s a mental block, but Labs has become horrible on breakaways / shootouts / penalty shots. He comes out but doesn’t challenge the skater adequately and then skates backwards far too slowly while the shooter scoots to the left and lifts the puck over his sprawled pad. Every damn time.

LaBarbera is brutal. Just awful.

How can nobody see the meaning of this trade?
This means, undoubtedly, that Luongo is along ways off from coming back and that the Canucks recognize a need to have someone capable of taking the load off Sanford. If I’m a Canuck fan, right now I want some damn answers from management about Luongo’s injury… some HONEST ones. Because if he’s so close to coming back, they wouldn’t make this deal.
This deal in and of itself is practically not even noteworthy. But the only possible reasoning behind it is VERY noteworthy.

My first thought also, Primis:
Exactly how badly hurt is Luongo that Vancouver is looking for another goaltender? Seems like he has been “close” to returning for a little while now.

Well I think it goes without saying that Luongo isn’t coming back until late February or March. Groin injuries are a bitch, and we all know that he had a “setback” recently.
