from John Glennon of the Tennessean,

Predators General Manager David Poile said on Wednesday the team made an offer to Georges Laraque, but that the player’s agent, Steve Kotlowitz, told Nashville that Laraque was looking to sign elsewhere....

Some of the tough guys still on the unrestricted free agent market include Atlanta’s Eric Boulton, Tampa Bay’s Andre Roy as well as Aaron Downey and Darren McCarty of Detroit.

Laraque Says No To Nashville

Whew! Let’s hope he wants to stay in the East. Too bad the Wings don’t have room for him because he’s one fighter who can skate almost as well as he can fight.

Maybe he’ll go back to Edmonton.  They loved him there.

We really wanted him. I would have liked for him and Hordi in Vancouver to tangle four games a year.

Wayne Gretzky himself couldn’t skate as well as Laraque can fight. And Laraque skates well enough to anchor a third line, even a second PP unit. He isn’t the Champ without good reason, and he’ll be a big-time asset in Montreal. The big, gentle giant/fierce enforcer goes home.
