from Bruce Garrioch of Off The Posts,
Expect to see Adam Mair get the book thrown at him by the NHL.
A league official confirmed to Sun Media today that the league is reviewing the incident of Mair marching down the hallway late in the Senators’ 5-2 victory at the HSBC Arena to try to get Ottawa winger Chris Neil. Senators coach Craig Hartsburg told reporters this morning that the league has to deal with Mair.
All that stopped Mair was Senators winger Jarkko Ruutu, defenceman Luke Richardson (who was in his street clothes) and director of communications Phil Legault, who stepped in the middle.
continued and see a video of the incident below…

Hmm. I suppose it’s not good for a player to go to the other team’s locker room like that, but the write-up in that article made the incident sound a lot worse than it really was. He should definitely be reprimanded, but I think Ruutu’s behavior (refusing to get off Mair after the fight) might need a reprimand, too.

Nothing happened. Only words were exchanged, not punches. This is ridiculous, he’ll get suspended for having an argument, yet the league will use this incident to hype up the next Buffalo-Ottawa game… Leave it alone, for crying out loud. Emotion in a sport is a good thing.

Something must have been wrong with the audio… I could hear a few words here and there, but mostly just a bunch of bleeps.
