Lemaire Adjusting To NHL Changes

from Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice,
Devils coach Jacques Lemaire says he’s a changed man because the NHL has changed.
And a good coach must adapt.
“You always change,” Lemaire said today. ‘You learn from other coaches, you learn from things that you’ve done in the past that doesn’t work as well today. It used to work really good, but you still have to change because that’s the demand. If the game demands a different thing, you’ve got to do it.”
So, though Lemaire continues to have a reputation as a defensive-minded coach who wants his team to play the 1-2-2 trap, he continues to say that he doesn’t want the Devils play that way—most of the time.
